Who we are

Shelby ("we," "us") provides an AI operations assistant for retail merchants at hireshelby.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account data: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
Store data you connect: product catalogs, inventory counts, orders, and customer records synced from platforms you authorize (Square, WooCommerce, Shopify, and similar), plus the API credentials you provide, which are stored encrypted and used only server-side.
Assistant activity: your conversations with the assistant and the actions it takes, kept so you have an auditable history.
Usage and billing data: plan, credit consumption, and payment status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.

How we use it

To run the product: syncing inventory, answering assistant requests, sending messages you approve, and generating reports.
To operate the AI features, portions of your store data are processed by our model providers (such as Anthropic and other providers via OpenRouter, and ElevenLabs for voice) solely to generate responses. We do not permit our providers to train on your data.
To bill you (Stripe), send messages you initiate (Brevo, Twilio), and read shipping emails you connect (Google, via your authorization).

What we don't do

We do not sell your data or your customers' data. Ever.
We do not use one merchant's data to serve another. Workspaces are isolated at the database layer.
We do not message your customers without an explicit approval step from you.

Data retention & deletion

Your data stays as long as your workspace exists. Email support@hireshelby.com to export or permanently delete your workspace; deletion completes within 30 days. Disconnecting a store stops all syncing immediately, and you can revoke API keys at your platform at any time.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Store credentials are stored encrypted and used only from server-side code. Access within our team is limited to operating and supporting the service.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising trackers.
